Well, we've got our schedule ironed out, so I thought I would (finally) share with you all.
We leave this Saturday the 26th and fly to Beijing.
The 27th through the 29th we explore Beijing - Great Wall, Forbidden City, etc. It will be cold there, so hopefully the weather will cooperate.
The 30th we fly to Lijiang to explore the city my brother-in-law lived for several years. It is supposed to be absolutely beautiful.
We stay in Lijiang until December 3rd, when we fly to Nanchang.
The 4th is the day we MEET ZOE!
We stay in Nanchang for a few days getting to know her and taking care of various paperwork.
The 9th we fly to Guangzhou, the city where all adoptions are finalized. We stay there until we have Zoe's passport on the 15th.
That day we take a train to Hong Kong, where we will stay for a couple days while The Man does some business and then...
HOME on the 18th!
3 weeks in China - Pray for us!
Praying!! -Laura Garcia
ReplyDeleteIt won't be long now and this precious child will be held in the loving arms of her new momma and papa. God knew all along, isn't it wonderful the plans that He has for us?
ReplyDeleteBe well and safe travels. I bet you are super excited!
love,
kathy
We will continue to pray. Looking forward to seeing pictures. Godspeed, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI visited China for two weeks in 2008 and fell in love with the countryside and the people. During the summer of 2009 I hosted an exchange student from Guangzhou, where I see you will be visiting as well. My family continues to stay in touch with him, and he will be entering college in the fall.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with you for a successful trip, and that your lives will be changed forever by what you are doing.

Will be praying.

Wow. Thank you for sharing your lives with me. You don't know me. Heck, for that matter Perry doesn't either but I've been on his email list for...well...like forever!
ReplyDeleteYour blog lets me know a little more about Perry and I am happy that you shared.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving and enjoy your family. Somehow, I know you will :)

I know I've been on your blog before...your little one looks so familiar! I'm a friend of Hal Wilkerson's. Congrats and may God cover your with grace and protection as you travel to China! (We adopted a son from Jiangsu in June.)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Marshall's. What an extraordinary thing for your family and new family member Zoe. How apropos to be going the day after Thanksgiving. What better blessing to be thankful for. Best wishes in your travels.
ReplyDeleteWe are friends with Hal Wilkerson. We accompanied our daughter & family in March to Wuhan to adopt their daughter, Lilly. It was a trip of a lifetime. Savor every moment.
ReplyDeleteWill be praying for an easy peaceful transition for Zoe.

Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI have been following Perry for many years and was blessed to finally meet him and shake his hand in Austin, Tx.
He uses you and the family alot in his emails, which I look forward to receive! I still laugh at an email in 2006 where Perry talked about you teaching him to drive a stickshift ... priceless! It is so nice to put a face with the name.
Susan and I are very happy for you and your family, congratulations!
I look forward to hearing more about Zoe. She is one lucky little girl!!
And like me, Perry married up :)

Congratulations to your family. My wife and I made a similar trip in 2005 - adopting our twin daughters from China. It was an amazing trip and a "life-changer" in many ways. As a coincidence, one of our daughters is also named Zoe!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your updates.
My family and I are praying for you!
Have a wonderful trip,
Steve
